MOIT Deputy Minister Reviews PDP8 Projects in Lam Dong

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long Works with Lam Dong Province on Power Development Plan VIII

Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long worked with the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province on the implementation status of power source and grid projects under the National Power Development Plan.

On the morning of January 9, at the headquarters of the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province, the working delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long held a working session with the Provincial People’s Committee. The session focused on the implementation status of power source and grid projects under the Adjusted National Power Development Plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050 (Adjusted PDP8) in Lam Dong province.

Key Attendees The working session was attended by leaders from both the Ministry and the local government:

  • Mr. Le Trong Yen: Standing Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee.
  • Mr. Pham Nguyen Hung: Director General of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority (MOIT).
  • Mr. Nguyen Ba Ut: Director of the Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade (DOIT).
  • Representatives from various Departments and Agencies under MOIT.

Reports and Discussions At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ba Ut, Director of Lam Dong DOIT, reported to the delegation on the implementation status of projects in the province. Mr. Pham Nguyen Hung, Director General of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority, also delivered remarks regarding the sector’s management and technical requirements.

Enterprise Participation Notably, the meeting saw the participation of key investors and leaders from major power corporations, indicating a focus on resolving specific project hurdles:

  • EVN & EVNNPT: Representatives from the leadership of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).
  • Son My I Project: Mr. Bregui Karim, Project Director of the Investor Consortium EDF-KYUSHU-SOJITZ-PACIFIC (Son My I Thermal Power Plant).
  • Son My II Project: Mr. Nguyen Hai Long, Project Development Director of AES Group (Son My II Thermal Power Plant).
  • Vinh Tan 1: Mr. Nguyen Trong Phuc, Commercial Manager of Vinh Tan 1 Power Company Ltd.

The session aimed to review progress, identify bottlenecks, and accelerate the development of critical power infrastructure to ensure energy security and support socio-economic development in the region according to the Adjusted PDP8.
